Someone at work asked me, ‘Why was there such a decline in live donor transplants after 2001?’
I did some more research on my original chart. The 2011 Annual Data Report states, “The gradual decrease in the number of living organ donations in the US over the past 10 years may be related to donor safety.”
I went a step further to see if this was a global downward trend, which it is not:
