Webinar – HE: The Patient Perspective

Logan and I both received this in our inboxes this week.  If you click on the link, you can see the pretty picture of my doctor, Dr. Gordon, who also happens to be the medical director and “nationally recognized hepatologist”.  I can’t think of a better doctor to have been seeing for the past 10 years.

The American Liver Foundation invites you to participate in a live webinar about Hepatic Encephalopathy.

On Thursday, January 23, 2014 the American Liver Foundation will host the first of a 4-part series of webinars on hepatic encephalopathy (HE) for patients and caregivers.  This first webinar, HE: The Patient Perspective, begins with an introduction to the topic by nationally recognized hepatologist Dr. Frederic D. Gordon and features two patient advocates who share their experience of living with HE.  All three panelists will be available for a live question and answer period following the presentation.

HE is most often seen in people with chronic liver disease and is a major complication of cirrhosis, whether caused by viral hepatitis, fatty liver disease, toxic exposure or long-term alcohol abuse.  Learn more about HE and hear the personal journey of two people who faced this condition and how they learned to cope with its many challenges.
